TradooIT allows you to build your memory by importing one bitext at a time, i.e. one pair of files in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, RTF or other formats, and will help you align it.
To import a bitext in your memory: - Open your memory.
- In the tool bar, click on Import.
The importation screen is displayed.
- Click on the Local File tab.
- Select the two files to be aligned.
Select the appropriate alignment options. They are explained in the table below.

It may be useful to check that box when the client asked you to translate specific sections only, because you want to avoid filling your memory with, for example, English-English segments.

- Based on segment length | To make your alignment task easier, TradooIT will do its best to align your bitext automatically. To do so, it asks you whether you want it to rely on statistics to align keywords found in source and target languages or whether you want it to rely on segment length only.
| | c. | Paragraph splitting strategy | - No split
- Split large paragraphs only | This option lets you indicate whether you want to split long paragraphs into sentences or whether you want to keep them whole. The advantage of splitting paragraphs is that having shorter segments in your memory enhances the quality of results in the bilingual concordancer and of replacements in the pretranslation tool. The advantage of keeping the paragraphs whole is that you keep your text as is.

- Click on Import.
- Fill in the required information and verify the bitext alignment (see section Aligning bitexts).
- Click on Save.
