Viewing sub-segment matches

The Translation pane includes two sections: Segment Matches (see section Viewing segment matches for more information) and Sub-segment Matches. Sub-segments are parts of segments that the add-in found in your teminology bank or your memory and that may help you translate the current segment. You can also apply them directly in the text to translate, either during pretranslation (see section Pretranslating) or later by right-clicking on the sub-segment and selecting Apply. The figure and the table below explain the information that you may find in the section Sub-segment Matches.

1Number of occurrencesColumn showing between brackets the number of occurrences of the sub-segment if it comes from the translation memory. You can click on that number to view the source or client associated with the sub-segment found
2Source sub-segmentPart of the current segment that was found in the memory or the terminology bank
3Link to the sourceLink to the terminology record of the sub-segment if it comes from the terminology bank or link that launches a search in the concordancer if the sub-segment comes from the translation memory.
4Target sub-segmentEquivalent found for the sub-segment, either in the terminology bank or the translation memory.

 5Context menuContext menu that appears when you right-click on the sub-segment row. It enables you to replace, in the current segment, the sub-segment by the equivalent found. 
Note: For the replacement to work, the sub-segment that you want to replace must not have been changed. However, the rest of the of the segment has been changed.
Comments
